The wolverine above is demonstrating for you what many students such as myself felt like today while A) attempting to park in the student lot, B) waiting to buy overpriced textbooks at the bookstore and C) trying to dodge lost freshmen, cell-phone yackers and texters and large groups of students visiting in the middle of the halls. Ah, well. Such it is every fall. It doesn't make me love UVU any less!
I've got a full course load and a dilemma. I was hoping for some advise from you, trusted blog friends. So, up until a few days ago, I was registered for 13 credits, three of them belonging to an Intro. to Art class that I've always wanted to take, just for fun. I could have used these credits toward anything I wanted, upper or lower division. Well then, I get an e-mail from my French professor. She is trying to build the French program at UV, and part of that is the dream of having a French minor available. Long story short, enrollment to these crucial classes is down and she came asking me to take 2050, Advanced French Grammars and Culture Studies. So, I dropped the art class and registered for French. However, I went to the class today, and I'm pretty overwhelmed. I haven't had French for nine months, and this is upper-level and pretty rough. It's also unnecessary. I don't need it to graduate, and I do need my GPA to stay up. But my dropping the class would mean the whole class could be dropped from the schedule, effecting the rest of the students in that class and the whole French program.
What to do? What would you do?

If it were me I would take the Art class. I can see how you might feel pressured to stay in your french class, but this is your time, and you may as well enjoy as much of it as you can!! GINA
I am loving the blond hair!!! You should seriously do some modeling, if you don't already. Gina
You don't need anymore stress. If the teacher really wants to keep the class going, let her try and recruit somebody else so they don't have to cancel it. But speaking of French, I've inducted the use of the word "Sans" a lot in my Canadian vocab. It is quite useful.
um...talk to the teacher and strike a deal that works for both of you?... LOL ;) that's a pickle! I have the hardest time saying no to people who ask for help.
I agree with Gina and Julie. It would be a shame to have your GPA drop and not have the class you want all at the same time. Go for it! Be brave. (and blonde hair, am I missing something!?)
Um yeah Rebecca, the questionable blonde hair on her "About Me" part. So Amber, your profile pic keeps changing to these mysterious picture shots where you look totally good for sure but like they aren't just normal pictures I'd expect to see of Amber. Is this Jeff's new hobby to dress you up and make you all posey or are you keeping some modeling secrets? And is that blonde hair a wig because if it is that is a great looking wig. Personally, I'm trying to buy a new wig each year for my Halloween wig collection. Maybe I should experiment with some of your poses. You can coach me.
Just say NO! You know that is my motto for you because you are always trying to do so much! Take art and enjoy your last year of school! :)
I would let the teacher deal with it and take that art class!!!! I wish I had taken more fun classes when I was in school. You're paying so much for tuition, you mine as well have some fun, right?
P.S. I know you started modeling for Old Navy. I saw you in last week's ad!! You and your secret crazy life!!
I'd explain your pickle to the Professor and then bail. You definately don't need to be under any more stress.
I'm wondering about the blonde hair too. Like Julie said, is Jeff playing glamour shots with you again? And was it just me or are you without a shirt? You minx.
;)
BUSTED! Time to come out of the closet Amber. Should we expect that as your next blog entry? Don't forget that we're your friends who would be excited about this--no need to be embarrassed. This is exciting. It is my first blog scandal! So obviously we'll be expecting to see some pictures and thanks to Cyndi, we'll be expecting the Old Navy one for sure.
Amber--I would have to vote for the art class. The classes I did "just for me" in college are some that I remember the most fondly & have actually gotten some use out of in my real life. That said, always pray about it. The Lord might know something I don't. ;)
