S-L-A-C-K-E-R

Confession time. I've been slacking like crazy on my blog lately- and I have two main excuses. #1- we just returned from the North Carolina coast from a Watson family reunion (pictures to follow shortly). #2- I went to a luncheon with some friends and all anyone there talked about, the whole time, was the Twilight books! After that, I decided it was ridiculous that I'm the only woman in the world who hasn't read them, so I borrowed them from a friend and read. In short, the house has gone to shambles, the dishes have gone undone, and my assignments have been neglected as I've blitzed the first three books. This is the way I read. I pick it up, and I don't put it down 'till it's done.

So, with this confession on the table, I would like to hear what you guys have to say about the first three books, pending the 4th release- what? This weekend? What have you guys thought of the books? And if you haven't read them, what are your reasons?- because I had a list.

And looking at this picture, I'm like "wait a minute- didn't Edward have blond hair?" Is that just me? And what's with the lipstick?

FINALLY! Glad to hear you gave into the pressure! I LOVED the books and I have confession-actually going to the midnight release party on Friday! I don't really like when pictures or a movie comes out though because it ruins the pictures in my own head! Now you have 2 days to catch up on the house before you succumb to book 4!!!!

I know! Jeff just hopes I'll read it quick and get this madness over with.

ya...I can't really put into words how I feel about this saga. Each book is great in it's own way-and in the first three books there are parts that I like to re-read..just for fun! ;) ENJOY! I got the 4th book at midnight on Friday and I finished reading in a total of about 12 hours. I'm much the same. I don't put it down until I have to and then anything that is not ABSOLUTLY necessary is put off until I can come back to reality! LOL!

So, would you say the 4th book is better than the others? I haven't read it yet- are you happy with how it turned out?

Amber. I too was a skeptic. I had a two page list of why I wouldn't read them. Then I gave in and read them all in 5 days. My house is in shambles too. Who knew teenage vampires were interesting? I loved them, but still feel lame.

I just read Breaking Dawn! My wrists hurt from reading all 750 something pages in a day....that is a heavy book. I am happy to say that this one was the only book of the 4 I had not thrown across the room! The ending worked for me. yay closure finally!

Hi! I haven't read it. Nor have I read the Potter series. I think I just like being different than everyone.I know, "stick-in-the-mud-misty". :)

It is about freaking time!!!! I'm glad you finally broke down. I am less than thrilled with who they picked to play Edward in the movie. Edward is not supposed to look dead but glowing and beautiful. I'm hoping that somehow he will win me over in the movie but I am doubtful. I am a definitely more of an Edward fan than I am Jacob.

Amber--at our house we have lots to say about the Twilight books. CL & I both read book 4 at Val's in Kentucky last weekend and were happier with it than with the other 3. IMHO books 2 & 3 needed a whole lot more editing, and Bella is a helpless idiot. And as far as being squeaky clean--NOT!! But I did think the closure was good in book 4, and there were several unexpected twists that were great.
